Here at Locust Grove Church, we are very committed to heeding our Lord's command of the GREAT COMMISSION.   Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15

We interpret that to mean at HOME and ABROAD.  As we leave our sanctuary after each service, we see a banner..... YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE MISSION FIELD!

Our MISSION OUTREACH pledges monthly support to numerous missionaries for both local and faraway needs as we feel led.  In this small way we are partnering with them to let the whole world know of God and His love.  Organizations such as OMS International, Wycliffe Bible Translators, World Missionary Press, World Gospel Mission, World Vision, Back to the Bible, Flagstaff Mission to the Navajos, and WEC International are close to our hearts and in our prayers.

We encourage missionary speakers to share their life experiences with us.  We gain a genuine respect for their dedication and trust in God.  Someone told us about Jesus, we must do our part to impart the GOOD NEWS to others through our material resources and our living testimony.

IF YOU ARE NOT A MISSIONARY, YOU ARE A MISSION FIELD.

From the first time we visited WATER STREET MISSION in Decatur, IL we felt a connection with the people managing the facility and the men and women that call it an interim home.   Several times a year we lead worship and feed their souls with God's word.  It is always amazing to us when they share their testimonies of the many blessings they've received from the hand of God.   We provide a hot meal to those who find themselves in need of the basics of life and come away blessed ourselves.  

We are happy to lead worship and share the Word with the residents at the MOWEAQUA NURSING & RETIREMENT CENTER every six weeks as well.  We bring "church" to the people there and many sing the hymns from memory.   We encourage these seniors to lean on the everlasting arms and look forward to their heavenly home.   The message reaches across generations.
