P.U.S.H.---- PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS

As you view the cross, the perpendicular beam symbolizes the relationship between God and man.  "When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when though hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which is in secret and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."  Matt 5:6

The horizontal beam symbolizes our relationship between each other.  "That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." Matt 18:19

PRAYER is the expression of the human heart in conversation with God.  There is POWER when we pray in the name of JESUS.  This two-way conversation includes ASKING the Holy Spirit for direction as we LISTEN for God to answer according to His will in our lives and those for whom we stand in the gap.  Just as we lean on the everlasting arms of Jesus for our needs and wants, friends, family and sometimes even strangers lean on us and depend on our prayers for God's help.  And just as we teach our children good manners, if we ask believing and receive, we ought not to forget to GIVE THANKS for His blessings, wisdom and timing in His answers to our prayers.  God's word is rich with scriptures on prayer.

Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.  I Chr 4:9-10

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks, let your requests be made known unto God. Phil 4:6

Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ, and these things write we unto you that your joy may be full. I John 1:3b,4

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him and bless His name.  Ps 100:4

If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

O give thinks unto the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the people. Ps 105:1

FIVE FINGER PRAYER GUIDE

1.  Your thumb reminds you to be praying for those closest to you.

2.  The next finger is the pointing finger reminding us to pray for teachers, doctors and ministers, to point others in the right direction.

3.  The next finger, the tallest, reminds us to pray for our leaders in business and in our nation.

4.  The fourth finger, our ring finger, is also the weakest and reminds us to pray for the weak, those in trouble or in pain.

5.  The little finger reminds us that the "least shall be the greatest among you."  It is not selfish to pray for yourself as your needs are in proper perspective after praying for the other four groups.
